white delight

(skirt, top & hat- H&M, shoes- Michael Kors, rings-H&M, vintage, Venice beach, Tiffany's, Russian river amber)
I always love the idea of an all white look, but when executed, all white tends to feel a little too stuffy for my taste. To avoid said stuffiness, I like to play with unexpected textures like this chiffon skirt and sweatshirt crop top. The skirt is frilly and dressy, while the crop top is slouchy and relaxed. Together they make for an effortless pairing. I topped the look off with a pile of oversized rings, my favorite vintage necklace, and a straw hat.
Road tripping back up to SF for the weekend to tie up some loose ends and to get crazy for a friend's b-day at AsiaSF.

changes

(lace crop top- c/o Chic Shop, lace epaulet bra- c/o Free People, pants-asos, round ring- crossroads, other rings- H&M, F21, Erin Wasson, vintage)
I have some pretty big news to share, but I'm going to make you wait for it.
I haven't fully come to terms with this new life change.
And it's not: a pregnancy, an engagement, a wedding

And now a glimpse at my new hair.
Nothing really outrages, I've termed this my mermaid hair stage.
My hair has been every color you can imagine. From platinum blond, honey blond, ashy blond, dirty blond, pink and yellow, to light brown, chocolate brown, reddish brown, dark brown, black, red black, blue black, ombre.
Been there. Done that.
I just want locks down to my waist in luscious shades of honey and frosty lemon.

New hair courtesy of Shannon Dean at Revamp salon.
Shannon is by far the best hairstylist I've ever encountered.
He also happens to be a really good friend.

city haunts

(dress- Dolce Vita also worn here, skirt- Zara, shoes-Alexander Wang, red snake skin bracelet, pyramid ring- Manifest/Manifest, silver bracelet - vintage, necklace-vintage, sunglasses- YSL)
I decided to rework this colorful dress into a top and give my new skirt a try. I think I'll be going beck to Zara to get this skirt in all the other colors. It's full and flirty with the perfect amount of bounce. A rare gem.
Sam and I pent a beautiful Sunday running around delighting in the city's finest. From the overdosing at the vintage expo to devouring too many crepes at Ti Couz, it was a fine day of indulgence.
I happen to find crepes to be the perfect vehicle for both sweet and savory flavors, but Nutella, banana, and whip cream crepes are my breakfast of champions.

balloon envy

(via Nastygal)
I desperately wish I was wearing that adorable sweater dress and running around with balloons.
I might be a year older today, but never too old for balloons. I can't wait for my birthday road trip down the coast this weekend. I have an unhealthy obsession with roadside motels and rundown towns on the verge of abandonment. The 101 offers up a slew of kitchy destinations sure to keep a road trip/vintage/antique/crap junkie busy.
Our destination is the Madonna Inn, definitely the swankiest roadside motel, followed by a stay at the Sycamore Springs Resort for some mineral spring water tub action.

cats & dogs

(skirt-Topshop, sweater-Nastygal, boots- c/o Need Supply, turban- American Apparel scarf, bag- Zara, blue ring- Crossroads)
A quick rainy day photo shoot. It started raining the moment Sam and I met up for our lunch date, but I couldn't let it spoil my plans.
Sometimes you just have to work with what you have, especially when you work full time while also trying to run a blog.
I'm in love with these boots that Need Supply gifted me. I never saw myself as a combat-style type boot girl, but these have totally given new possibilities to my wardrobe.
They're the perfect cure for overdressing.

Here are some photos from the Art of Fashion Foundation competition fashion show.
The Art of Fashion Foundation is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to international cultural exchanges through a variety of events meant to facilitate critical thinking among artists, designers, scholars and students.

The foundation puts on their annual competition to expose
and support emerging fashion design students from all over the world. The foundation
offers internships and scholarships to the winners of the competition,
while introducing them to industry professionals.

These are just a few of my favorites, but I truly enjoyed all of the creative designs that came down the runway.

Creatures of habit

(dress- c/o Erin Fetherston, sweater- Forever 21, stockings-Forever 21, shoes- c/o Pierre Hardy for Gap, bag-vintage, vest- Zara, necklace-vintage)
Sunday mornings are always the same. A paper shared over a lox bagel and coffee from Thad's Cozy Cafe, a walk with the pup and stop over at leftovers for the thrill of a good vintage find.
This Sunday was no exception.
Since the holidays are fast approaching, I find myself sneaking glitzy pieces into my daywear.
It's getting me into the holiday spirit.
Best part of the season? The pink Christmas lights Sam bought me!

After the Storm

Ok, not a huge photo post like promised.
Crappy weather has really been cramping my style.

let's layer

(skirt- J Crew, sweater-Asos, bag-Zara, button down- c/o Stylesofia, bralette- c/o Free People, belt-c/o American Apparel)
Sam and I dedicated another weekend to searching out new eateries around the city.
Saturday we discovered a Middle Eastern deli shop with complimentary tea and homemade baklava.
Later that night we grabbed street tacos in the Mission after watching a strange little multi-media performance piece by our Walgreens guy.
Sunday we found a little Vietnamese deli/bakery gem, Lee's sandwiches, nestled in the heart of the Tenderloin. Their boba smoothies and $3.00 sandwiches were the perfect rainy day pick me up.
It was a sleepy weekend in the city.
