Jak & Jil went up a hill, in rather Stylish heels!

I love the mix of nude with pastels and their perfectly coiffed hairdos too. The one on the left has my dream sunglasses on! :)

Rocks + Daggers

Spent a casual afternoon (that was quite cool) in my Charly Madison thermal- adore the red dragon detail on the side. A long, long time ago an old friend, from California sent it to me. The houndstooth scarf belongs to my Mom. I don't know where she got it. And the skinny jeans are by Hudson. The olive green, part sweater, part military-style blazer, is also very mid-Century Romantic looking to me; from Nordstrom, yearssss ago. I wear it constantly whenever the weather starts to cool down. The bags are non-descript. One is Barneys CoOp, the other is a Birkin lookalike I shamelessly snagged online two years ago. Topped off with my most prized possession, for this moment anyway; are the funky, lace up ankle bootie heels that I scored at this little hole in the wall shoe shop in downtown Miami. $45 but totally worth it. Supposedly, they are Balenciaga knockoffs. Yippe! I did a little dance when I first saw them. My Mom teased me about it, too. HAHA.
Things I'm Craving at this particular moment:
  • Odwalla original protein drinks
  • Peaches - they are so sweet this time of year
  • A pair of flat lace up boots
  • doc martens
  • a long weekend in New York City
  • Portobello mushroom burger

I appreciate every comment, every visit. I do smile and find myself getting giddy over every word you all leave for me in my blog. I will try me best to still comment all of you, when windows of time and opportunity are open. But, I do promise to continue blogging and updating on a regular basis. Have a wonderful, wonderful and magnificent Monday!

I heard the Sugar Plum fairies dancing in my head

Christmas Cheer is here, the concert that is. I will be attending a Classical Christmas show at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts. My Grandmother surprised me with the tickets yesterday, as an early Holiday present. So we will be attending the performance together this evening. And I had so much fun putting this festive look together for the occasion. My favorite is always the Nutcracker montage.

Dress: Vintage (belong to my Grandmother, handmade, from when she was in her 20's). Coat: International Concepts. Tights: L'eggs. Heels: Vintage. Clutch: Liz Claiborne. Cocktail ring: Costume.

  • I am told there will be a special surprise for me this weekend??
  • I am attending a Holiday party this weekend where there will be lots of fun, food and music among spending time with both family and friends. I always look forward to this one in particular.
  • I have found a new amazing blog. I suggest checking it out here.
  • I made a silly, fun video of my Christmas tree. Hope you like it.

On a Whimsical Whim via a Vintage Dress!!

Fly me to the moon. Let me play among the stars. Let me see what Spring is like on Jupiter and Mars. In other words, hold my hand. Ohhh. In other words, darling, kiss me. Fill my heart with song. And let me sing forever more. You are all I long for. All I worship and adore. In other words, please be true. In other words, I love you. (lyricsfreak.com: Dinah Washington)

Cinderella, You Shall go to the Ball!

I am immediately reminded of the classic Disney cartoon, Cinderella, whenever I am trying on a pair of heels. Whether shopping for some at a Department store or simply slipping into a pair at home, imagery of Cinderella, her fairy Godmother and the infamous glass slipper call to mind. The dress I have on is of the softest denim that I have ever felt. I knew I loved it the instant my eyes fell upon it. The light wash was exactly what I was aiming for. The full skirt was an additional plus! The book I am seen toting about ("How to Walk in High Heels") has everything I'll ever need inside. From Style and Beauty Tips to domestic ideas. I also enjoy reading the quotes carefully placed throughout. I opted for darker eye makeup, as I love accenting my eyes when going out; especially at night. This "set" was taken before meeting up with some friends who were in town for only a couple of days. We had sushi for dinner (I had the miso soup and a veggie wrap!) and then extravagant ice cream sundaes (topped with colorful sprinkles!) for dessert. -----*Photos can be clicked, to enlarge their size.
